Rehardening the crank after an offset grind

Offset grinding a 4.6 RV8 crank to create a 4.8. Is rehardening the crank necessary? 185" are removed from the big ends? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'd be interested to hear who can do this as nobody local to me has the machinery. I'd have the crank tuftrided.
