Ignoring my previous idiocy on another thread, I am now considering removing the swirl flaps and decoking my diesel Mini (B37).

The manifold modifications are not an issue... i've already half cleaned it and it's back on the car doing what it should.

However, the intakes themselves were left untouched, as below... pretty dire.

Whats the simplest way to sort these out? Physical scraping, chemical cleaner or a bit of both?

No rush on this, will be able to take the car off the road for a few days to fiddle around.

Do I need to be worried if the odd little flake of carbon drops into the cylinders (I'm thinking not overly?)
