My Son has a 2014 Fiesta 1.25 that has a an occasional 'Engine Service Now' warning appear on the display, it doesn't stay on just flashes on then off. It's not a service due warning, rather a fault warning of something although no CEL on and car drives fine, a quick google suggests various possibilities; sensors, catalytic converter etc.

I have an OBDII wifi scan tool that I have previously used on his old car (Renault Clio) using the 'Carista' app, however the app seems to have changed dramatically since then and I can't get to to work, at least not with the Ford.

Assuming the tool is still working, can anyone recommend a good app (preferably free) that will communicate with the OBD and therefore the car to see if I can find whatever is causing the warning?

TIA

Forscan is my go to tool for my fiesta, always used their laptop based software but I believe they have an app.

Returning to this, 'FORscan' wouldn't recognise the OBD adapter I have (maybe it's too old?) but I got it to work with 'Car Scanner' and the only recorded fault was low voltage related.

Given that we have had problems with the battery being weak I bought a new battery and it's been good since, I've also had similar random faults on another car when the battery was failing.

There was a time when if a battery could start your car it was good to go, not now though - modern cars eh!

I've had good results with this one and Forscan on Android: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scanner-Bluetooth-Diagnos...

Look on the bright side - the car was warning you it had a tired battery, so you replaced it before that crappy day when you turned the key and just got a click from an old car.

Agreed though, on the less bright side, my Son being a poor student couldn't afford the new battery so I had to pay for it. irked

Still, at least I shouldn't be getting that late night call "Dad, my car won't start" so, that's something. thumbup
