Vauxhall Adam Potential Clutch Issue
Discussion
After some advice if anyone could help please.
My daughters got a Vauxhall Adam 2016, 1.2 petrol with 43,000 miles on it.
Have an issue when first using the car from cold as the car judders when pulling away in first gear. After about 10 minutes of driving the problem pretty much disappears.
It’s not consistently doing it as she’s just driven to work and it’s been okay but the issues becoming more frequent.
Car doesn’t get a great deal of use as she’s quite a nervous driver and pretty much just uses the car to commute to work and back which is about a 5 mile trip each way. I do however try to give it a bit of a run out from time to time.
Cars well maintained, serviced at every MOT and I’ve had the Mechanic who looks after our cars check it out who’s said it may be the clutch but couldn’t be 100% that a new clutch would resolve the issue.
Car’s in otherwise excellent condition so happy to put some money into it to sort it out.
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately it sounds like you mechanic could be right, yes it COULD be the clutch, in fact if it is anything truly mechanical it is most likely to be some aspect of the clutch.
Rust on the plate
DMF on its way out
Being just a couple of possibilities that spring to mind.

Interestingly, rust on plate suggestion, the only thing I can find online referencing something similar to issue I’ve got is from Vauxhall Corsa drivers where the problem is caused by moisture forming on clutch plate that disappears after a short period of driving.
I’m guessing the Adam has broadly similar engine/ gearbox to the Corsa so it could be that. Conversely other people we know with Adams don’t have this issue
