As im building a new loom for the new ecu, I'f quite like to fit a proper mil style bulk head connector into it so i can easily disconnect the engine loom and take it out with the engine...

now a good google hasnt some up with anything...


any one got any ideas ?

Thats the type of thing, I just need a uk supplier, and pref a cheep version <LOL>

Seem to remember we dealt direct with Deutsch after having a chat with them at Autosport last year.

You could try this company. They are listed as distributors on the UK Deutsch website.

Try Farnell, RS, Maplins various automotive and industrial connectors on there.

None of the decent ones (eg ITT-Cannon) are cheap. You can get multipole plastic things but they aren't suitable for lots of connecting/disconnecting or rough handling.
I know: I've replaced plenty on industrial kit that was built down to a price...

I've got some literature from people that sell these (in planning stages a new loom for the metro), I'll dig it out and mail you what I've got tonight.

There's nearly always someone breaking an Alfa 164 V6 on Ebay. They have a nice waterproof plug & socket of that type for the engine loom (a dozen or so pins I think) poking though the bulkhead near the coolant expansion tank - easy to get to.
