selecta - no drive

ive got a punto selecta (cvt) in the garage just now , i put a new engine in the car about a month ago but today she came into the garage saying the car has no drive , fluid and fuses are ok however there is no power being supplied to the brushes at the electromagnetic clutch has anyone heard of this before or does anyone know if there is supposed to be power at the brushes is there a control unit for the gearbox and where is it so i can trace the wiring , i know its a longshot any help appreciated
