id a vauxhall diesal

I just bought a vaux astra 1.7 td but am unsure what engine it has does anyone know an easy way to tell the car is a 97 1.7td

I assume you mean whether its an vx (gm) or a isuzu engine, more than likely a isuzu if its a td, if its a plastic rocker cover its isuzu!
