Sorry to keep asking questions, but ..........

My car was originally front wheel drive with the antiroll bar mounted behind the engine and coupled to the rear of the front struts.

Now it`s rear wheel drive, I`ve got to pass the antiroll bar around the front of the engine (cant go round the back) would it be better to connect it to the front or rear of the struts ?

Thanks
Pete

This should be in suspension.

Shouldn't make any difference if the strut mounting points are the same.

I would ditch the ARB as it does increase understeer. Since you are now RWD, That may decrease the tendency to oversteer. So run it with none, see how it goes and then make the decision to keep it/etc. Having said, a FWD car with an ARB (front) is an oddity. I'm running a mini and very into my setup. I run a 14mm rear bar to make it corner flatter, reduce understeer and degrip the back if I "chuck it". The front ARB does the reverse. So, it is more appropriate to have one on the front, but I'd try without first. Have a think about the order of size needed.....

The guy is building a Vauxhall Astra with a Chevy V8 in it and you are recommending that he ditches the front ARB because you are worried that it may decrease oversteer?! rofl

Virtualy all modern FWD cars have anti-roll bars on the front!

Yeah, it`s me, I`m popping up all over the place mate

All I want to know is, will mounting the ARB onto the front of the struts, make any difference to mounting it on the rear of the struts ?

I`ll be making my own, using 20mm solid EN8.

Thanks
Pete

That's going to be bloody stiff, front wheel lifting stiff. What is the rest of the geometry, tyre sizes, etc. Just curious.

As for the FWD stuff. I was thinking about it being a function of the Mc Pherson strut front suspension. Usually has a tie/ar bar.

Here`s a pic, the studding laying on the subframe is a pattern for the ARB, it will connect to the drop links in the pic........
