had a full zorst on my VX220 turbo for 6000 miles and the flexi join has developed a leak. Company who built/fitted it will fix it asap so no issue there.

The problem is that he was very curious why, said they can run 400bhp no probs. Got me thinking, could anything else cause the failure?? I get a feeling of "vibration" when on full load but it could be my imagination/normal as the zorst is pretty loud! Could this vibration cause the failure, or would a failure somewhere else be more likely (mani/mounting bracket?)? Car also has a remap.

If the flexi, isnt up to the job of coping with the engines movement, it will break.
Or if the exhaust isnt supported/bracketed properly...
Or indeed, it could just be a crap exhaust.

What sort of exhaust is it ?

its a one off/development made by blueflame - they do a standard VXT (dont do a NA)with 200cell cat and quite a few of those around, havent heard of any issues. Mine has a 100cell cat and larger diameter pipe.

I will have a look at the OEM over the weekend and compare brackets etc - anything else to look for?

Flexi joints often suffer due to over compression & over extension fatiguing the part. In addition they are sometimes misused, you need a tube in tube with flex over the top and braid to stop over extension, with tapered ends to control loading. This is the sort of thing you need...
