power steering - help fello PH'ers!!!

Morning all,

Power steering has gone, AA chap said fluid is full, but smells burnt and it has a metallic 'skin' on the top, any ideas???(sorry I know not great deal of info there)
Car is a BMW 330ci

Is the pump running? It may have failed, but surprised your AA man couldn't have told you. They're not too expensive from places like GSF, but ask your dealer for a comedy quote anyway. If you want to check part numbers try www.realoem.com
