Imobilisor Problem fitting new fuel pump

Please help.
My girlfriends dad is a mechanic and has hit a problem trying to replace a fuel pump on an escort he's doing up.
Needed a new Fuel Injection Pump (1.8 Turbo Diesel).
He's bought one off a guy on ebay, but problem is that it won't turnover.

Apparently the immobilisor is not connected to the pump and it has a sensor that needs changing .....

Any help would be appreciated

As far as i am aware you have to have the fuel cut off module within the pump coded to your ecu, and possibly the chip in your key.
