I have a 1600 k series currently completely standard running standard mems ecu. I am looking at a set of Piper BP285H or BP285M cams and verniers to go in it. On the piper site it says not recommended with standard ignition does this mean that it will run roughly or that it may even cause knock/pre-ignition, the k series has no knock sensor so this is a bit of a problem if the ecu isnt mappable. What options are there for a reasonable mappable ecu at the moment?

Cheers Guys

you may find its just that the camshaft dont have the option to drive the rotor arm,as on the later K,s where the motor as 4 coil packs one over each sparkplug,so as no need for rotor arm drive.or maybe as you said the ecu as the wrong ign mapping.

Ok so if they dont have the dizzy drive I need an ecu to drive the coils. Is there also the posibility that it would just run really rough?

possible, you may just find piper are being careful of being sued with owners stating there cams have damaged there motors, sorry im probably not much use, i am not a fan of this motor seen to many cylinder head issues to be fond of it.
