Cost isn’t the issue, and converting from twin SU’s to a 4 barrel carb is easier (and cheaper) than converting to EFi. The other thing is I’ve already got a couple of EFi projects on the go, but never really had a good play with 4-barrels so fancy the opportunity to play with something new on my SD1.

Ideally I’d like to choose a carb that has some spare capacity on the current 3.5l engine but equally will be able to be re-jetted to run a 4 or 4.6. I’ve currently got a 500cfm and a 600cfm sat in my shed, that I’ve acquired over time just waiting a chance to be tinkered with…the other alternative I guess, has anyone ever had any success either with running a gutted 4barrel carb as a throttle body, and driving the EFi from a manifold pressure sensor etc, or using that Holley 4injectors into the top of the carb setup, forget the exact name but sounds like it wouldn’t be out of place on a ZZ Top album, Eliminator or Commander or something?

Regards
Iain
