MSD 6AL

I'm thinking about getting an MSD 6AL kit for my MGB. The main reason for this would be to improve part throttle response and the way the car behaves when cold (it's a bit temperamental).

The rev limiter will be used as well.

Does anyone have experience with this system or can you offer advice?

Almost all Ultima use them.
There have been a few failures over the years but this seems to be related to overheating in the confines of the Ultima engine bay and a hot throbbing V8.
In your case I would mount it low down on the other side from the exhaust.
You must bring a dedicated positive supply to it as direct from the battery as possible and a heavy gauge as it is sensitive to voltage drop.

The instructions will also describe some useful tips for immobilising.

we use a 6al in our dragster come to think of it our whole ignition system is msd. I cant rate it highly enough, great tech support too, although the prices from the suppliers over here are a bit steep so id consider ordering it from the states.
