Hey guys
I'm new on here and this probably isn't the right area to talk about this, for which i apologise.
I'd really like to fit a bike engine into a car, in a front mounted, rear wheel drive configuration. I am looking for advice regarding mounting the engine, transferring power to the rear differential.
There are also fiddly things like clutch cables, gearchange linkages etc. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Cheers
Ben

This site might be helpful and you should sign up to the Yahoo Groups Bike Engined Cars forum.

Installation is pretty straightforward - just turn the engine through 90 degrees and connect up a propshaft to the gearbox output shaft via an adaptor coupling (which can be bought off the shelf from specialists, these days).

Bike oil systems are not designed to take the sump surge experienced in cars, so at the least you ought to think about a baffled sump, and the general concensus seems to be that dry sumping is advisable for the Hyabusa.

Mounting will need to be via suitable subframes (the link above gives info). Throttle and clutch connections are not especially diffiult, but you need to be careful about usuing suitable leverage ratios to give the right effort/travel for foot operation since bikes components are obviously designed for hand control. The sequential gearbox makes gear linkages really simple, though!
