Electrical Problem oin a mk2 golf 1.6 please help
Discussion
Dont you just love cars with no history Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing . Right bought this mk 2 golf about a month ago now, it always had a flicker to the lights, i thought bad earth or something, but it also had a real juder like fuel starvation when you were around 80mph. so i was advised the stutter could be fuel pump due to its age so i changed that and no avail, changed the air and fuel filters still now't, so i got the good ole carb cleaner out and that seems to have removed a head of shit but only made it worse as it now idles at around 750 to 800 rpm which it doesn't like, and when you go to accerlate it hesitates and tries to stall then goes, If this was a aircooled beetle i would of said it was a flat spot on the ignition, but it has only just appeared,
So would any of these be the coulprit,
Faulty Reg in Alt, as they only flicker when its running and the battery light flickers realy faintly.
Faulty rotor arm, condensor, coil.
bad adjustment of Carb.
Im planning to try and adjust the carb tommorow,
The car is a 1.6 man carb golf with what i beleve to be a weber carb due to a manual choke, cheers peeps
