Deep Water and starter motors.....
Discussion
Quick bit of help required... from the PH faithful...
Drove home on Friday through the flooding that was rural warwickshire. Forded a couple of pretty deep rivers on the Fosse way and the car never missed a beat all the way home.
This Morning... Jump into my Puma, key it on... all the electrical functionality is there, Fuel pump pulses but the car will not crank. No knocking of solenoid engagement... Could the water have screwed the starter motor? I know 4x4 starter motors are vented to allow them to wade much deeper than normal cars. Perhaps my smugness at seeing an abandoned and drowned freelander in an oversize puddle (
) is beginning to wear off a bit as a result of my own misfortune. Good old Karma.
