lt77 gearbox short remote

What do TVR's use
, it maybe short
. If so there are plenty of written off cars with bits available all the time, try someone like bellhill or douglas valley breakers.

It's hard to cut and shut but it can be done I did it once. Or get a rare tr8 remote which is the pukka option. Also, some jags had a very short remote which is nice and tidy but they usually stay with the gearbox. Lastly , the sherpa remote is also very short but it's iron, higher up and sloppy so don't go there.

I believe Marcos used a very short linkage on some of their Rover-gearboxed cars. TVR used the Marcos one on the V8 "S" and the long SD1 linkage on the V8 Tasmins. They had their own home-made one for the Griffith and Chimaera which brings the lever a very long way forwards and slightly towards the driver (assuming right hand drive). There was a really weird one made in very small numbers for some Left Hand Drive Griffiths and Chimaeras. The later cars used Borg Warner gearboxes and had a completely different and much simpler linkage. Dpending on how much you want to move the lever (and whether you can put up with the peculiar motion the lever will then describe!) you could always just put a dog-leg in the gear lever!
I've got what I think is the Jag remote.
It's on the LT77 that came out of my Marcos.
The lever goes direct into the box, so the lever is slightly forward of the 'box output flange.
I don't know of any intermediate linkages, only the long and the short ones.

The Sherpa remote looks like this:

Can I mildly hijack this thread and ask whether anyone else with Sherpa remote also has the reversing light switch on the left-hand side of the remote? Mine is on the left and I can't see how it can possibly work unless I'm missing a component somewhere.
Incidentally I got mine on Ebay - they do crop up occasionally, but aren't particularly cheap.
