Changing output shaft on a T5

Anyone done this before? Are the gearset splines the same from box to box and just the output splines different?

I've found a box that has the correct input but wrong output and I have a output and tail housing from my current defunct box.

You can rebuild a T5 with very few specialist tools required, if you're looking just to change the mainshaft and not get any bearings off then you should be able to do it quite easily.

Get yourself some decent expanding snap ring pliers though as you'll need them.
