Hi,

I have a citroen berlingo 1.9d van 2004 38,000 miles. About 6 weeks ago it developed a judder. Sometimes it will happen every few miles other times you may drive 30 miles with no problems. Normally when you takk your foot off the throttle and then pused it again there would be a slight hesitation/jerk. It does not seem to matter what gear you are in as it did it on the motorway today at 70mph.

Starts fine and tick over fine too.

Been to local garage and they have replaced filters but no better. I added a bottle of the engine cleaner to a full tank of diesel, and it cured the problem in an instant. Since then I have filled up and straight away the problem has returned.

What do you think? injectors, dirt in the fuel tank? It just seems a mystery the cleaner solved the problem but only temporarily.

Any advice would be great.

on the front of the inlet manifold there is a vacum operated butterfly valve ! these can play about, just disconnect this and that should cure it . the engine will run fine with these disconnected
