I have a dull knocking noise coming from the N/S/F wheel area. It is road speed related and is not affected by engine speed or gear selection. I've noticed the noise becomes near silent when turning right, even at low speed, so to me it seems to be affected by the position of the front wheels rather than weight transfer.

I initially thought it was a wheel bearing as mk1 Focus' are prone to failure, but it does not drone like a bearing.

I have not noticed any knocking on full lock either, which has me a bit stumped.

Any help or advice would be brilliant.

Car is 1999 Ford Focus Zetec 1.8 Petrol.

I've had this on the 2 i've owned, most likily the link rod between the strut and wishbone, cost me £25 to do both sides, really simple diy job.
