hi could anybody help me please. i own a 2000 2.0l zetec focus thats developed a sticking throttle, doesnt happen all the time but as soon as it warms up it seems to develop. when travelling along at whatever speed when you release the throttle it carries on with no engine braking, its not the cable as i know its returning. when you put it in neutral as your rolling the revs stay at that speed until you come to a stop then it goes back down to about 1000 rpm. everything seemed to point to idle control valve that a few people had told me does happen. so i changed that and it worked for 4 days and now its back again, before the throttle starts to stiick theres normally a hesitation on acceleration for a second like the traction controls kicked in. apart from that starts and runs normaly. poss trip to local fords if nobody has any idea on this. many thanks

It could be a sensor issue somewhere, although it is very dificult to determine exactly where just talking about it over a forum. If one senor gives a miss reading then this can cause a knock on effect.

Yes, that is your best bet. Could you post back here when and if you find out the problem. It sounds interesting to me!

Best of luck,

Chris
