Problem after getting engine rebuilt
Discussion
Over the winter I have had my 1.8 20v turbo motor rebuilt with forge pistons rods valves etc etc.
I also got a biger turbo fitted and remapped from a different company as the engine builder didnt have the facility to do the remap.
After running the engine a bit ( engine builder said there was no need to run the engine in ) and remapping the car it it developed a knocking / metallic rattle.
The car is now back with the engine builder .
My question is should I be expected to pay for the engine builder to rectify the problem?
Where do I stand ?
Thanks

Depends on what the problem is. If you've detonated the pistons then it's your fault or the tuners fault, not his. On the other hand if the builder didn't torque the main cap bolts causing the crankshaft to wobble all over the place then it's his fault.
You won't get an easy solution with this unless it's easy to determine exactly how the damage was caused.
