I have a Bosch fuel relay 12V 30A with the code number
0322 014 113.

What do the numbers mean?

What cars had these relays fitted as standard?

They don't mean anything, it's just a Bosch part number. Take it to any decent motorfactor and they should be able to match it. If it has a standard size / shape and terminal layout then the only variable is whether it has any electronics inside other than the basic coil and switch. Some relays have either a one-way diode in series with the coil, or a flyback circuit to dissipate the back EMF when the relay is switched off. So depending what the spec of the relay is you may not be able to use just any old relay, but it shouldn't be hard to get hold of an equivalent one.

Its just a part number.

But there are various different types of relay, to do different tasks. if its just a normal 4/5 pin, then it should be easy to source a replacement. There are 2 common pin configurations for standard relays.

What car is it from ?

So what you want to know is will the Jag one work in the Aston because the Jag one is cheaper or easier to get hold of?

Good for you, that's the way to do it.

Myself, if the Jag one has the same numbered terminals, I'd just whack it in and see what happens smile

I'd have a go at fixing the Aston one first though. If the contacts are burnt I'd fold a strip of very fine abrasive paper in half to make it double sided and draw it back and forth between the contacts while pressing them together. The other common and easily-fixed fault is dodgy solder connections, which can be spotted by inspection with a magnifying glass and re-soldered.

Does the pump prime when you turn on the ignition, the car fires and then dies?

I service one of these and some run a diode pack for the fuel pump relay which do pack up, also the signal from the AFM to turn it on while cranking sometimes gets lost, snapped wire on this one.
could also be the AFM if it`s a flapper type, according to the Aston engineer I spoke to.

If the problem is purely ion the fuel pump power supply, you will be able to fix it (temporarily) by hot-wiring the pump so that it runs continuously. If that cures the problem you know it's somewhere in the pump power supply. If it still doesn't start/run you know you're looking for a more general problem.

Pigeon.....yes, looking for cheaper alternative
stevieturbo..........just watched your video - Awesome

Car starts and drives , fingers crossed

A few weeks ago the engine would start and then stall but not all the time.
Replaced the map sensor pipe but was directed to these fuel pump relays by
an Aston mechanic.
