any1 agree that puttng a redtop in a 90's mini is good idea?
Discussion
The VTEC engine is the one to go for - lightweight, packages and parts available to suit the install, lightweight, revvy engine perfect for a lightweight car, bombproof reliability.
The K-series has a few key design flaws that would always persuade me to look elsewhere, even though it falls into the lightweight category. Their saving grace is that they are as common as council houses.
The vauxhall redtop is VERY heavy, and a bit long in the tooth now. Although a cracker of an engine in its day, the newer powerplants will walk all over it.

I assume you are referring to the C20XE from an Astra/Cavalier?
As an owner of a Cavalier Turbo I would have to side with my conscience and say it was a bad idea because I just dont like seein the cars butchered
However, the C20XE is a torque heavy engine (giving you approx 155bhp off the shelf) and would be a bit of a nightmare (I'd imagine) in a mini. Might consider the early Astra 1.6 engine, little less poke but good overall result.

- away to cry as I recall all the young boy racers that have shoved a C20LET into a corsa**
