Honda Civic Auto Gearbox rattle
Discussion
We just bought a 1998 Hond Civic Aeroback. It's an auto. The engine sounds great, very quiet, no strange noises. The gear changes are fine, smooth and quiet and no problems around town.
However, whilst on the motorway I have noticed a "rattle" coming from what seems to be directly under the gear shift. It seems to be mainly when we are slowing down to come off the motorway, so from 70MPM down to 20MPH. Then it just goes away once we are back to normal town speeds. It has also done it for a bit at around 70-80MPH whilst on the motorway.
It's not affecting the performance or drive, I just wondered what it was as we're about to do a 250 mile drive at Christmas and I don't want the thing falling apart!
