i was hopeing some one will be able to help me. my current car is a 2002 ford fiesta....i know. i have had many problems with this car and spent alot of money keeping it on the road, for some reason, when i accelerate the whole car starts to vibrate like crazy. i changed all mounts on the car this made an improvment but still really bad. and have had wheels balanced again. does any one here have a suggestion of what to try next.

thanks alot

where is the vibration coming from ??

engine ? drivetrain ? wheels ? suspension ???

Its times like this, surely a competent mechanic is a better idea than guessing ?

My guess would be CV joint too. Is it related to road speed or engine speed? If it's engine speed clean the leads with WD40 or similar (NOT while the engine is running!!!!). If that doesn't work change the coil pack.

Only Fiesta (out of 6) that I have had/maintained that vibrated was clutch, Mother-in-law rides clutch!

My step-sister had an XR2 some years back, it had a similar vibrate which confounded the "technicians" at the local Ford dealership. They changed CV's, hubs, shafts, wheels, etc.. you name it.

A local motorsport expert sorted it in jiffy - new front struts. Job done.

Bent driveshaft?

Only reason I say this is on one of my old cars it used to shake like hell over 50 mph.
