Micra Flat Battery Help
Discussion
Wifes 2006 Micra S, driven 40 miles a day suffered a flat battery. She called dealer and they had it recovered and said they put a new battery in.
She got the car back and noticed that the CD changer (in dash) had now jammed so the next day she thought she would pop round to the dealer but the battery was flat again.
Anyway I was about and popped on a battery pack, jumped it and took it round to Nissan. They have had the car two days now (no word on the CD player fix) and say they can't find anything wrong with it and the CD player maybe the fault (b
ks I suspect).
We have to collect the car tomorrow. Any pointers to take up with them? thanks.

You don't give a very clear definition of 'jammed' when referring to the CD.
If it were continually trying to play or change CD it would be a continuous drain on the battery resulting in both old and new being flat.
You will need confirmation from the stealer that they had tested for current when the car should have had everything turned off.

In Car Entertainment is now a common cause of dead batteries. Loads of problems with them randomly turning themselves on.
Plus, that car may have a Nissan badge but it's now about as Japanese as the Eiffel Tower! Renault took Nissan over a few years ago and have dragged their once amazing standards of quality down to their own (Renault are currently the least reliable cars on the road today)subterranian levels.
A Dealer Principle at my local Nissan stealership told me that Nissan's warranty claims have gone up around 400%.

Ok CD player will not play cds or eject and when you first turn the key the cd multichanger will try and load the cd for a few seconds. This was fine before and only became faulty after she got the car back. It stops trying when the car is off but maybe it might try again whilst unattended. Good point!
Anyway we still have not got the car back. Dealer wants it until Monday to see if it starts OK and is fitting a new CD player under warranty.
I'll ask them if they checked for current drain as suggested.
Been also suggested that early Micras had an issue with batteries by a mech down the pub but he's a blitzer and can't remember the fault
