I dunno but I suspect dirty jets maybe.

Honda Civic '95 with a single carb 1.3 stutters when I lift, only when cold.

Response is direct and the engine runns smooth but in the lower rev-range acceleration isn't linear. This improves after a few mins.

It gets worse . . .

Carb? I'm sure this will be single point injection, regarding the fault I'd be looking for a vacuum leak first (vac pipe, gasket etc).

I agree, there will be no carb on a 1995 car. It will be a single point injection system that looks a little bit like a carb. Could be vacuum leak, MAP sensor pipe partially blocked, coolant temperature sensor, the list goes on.

There are cars that late with carbs, those maestro/montego kits they were selling for example.

But not on a Honda most of their cars have had injection since the 80s

If it is carb, then more than likely its the autochoke.

Could also be ignition problems.

regardless....a 1992+ car with a cat will almost certainly have had fuel injection, especially a Honda.
And at 1995...I'd say there is no chance whatsoever of it having a carb.

According to carfolio - Honda PGM-Fi fuel injection.

yes it as single point injection, they are prone to injector fouling big time, this causes a splashy lean idle and general crap running at small throttle openings, try a concentrated bottle of injector cleaner on about 1/2 tank of fuel and a new fuel filter you have nothing to lose winkthis was one model that was not up to Hondas bullet proof PGM FI systems.

Besides the fact that I don't know after 10 years of flawless ownership - yes, I am ashamed - I must say I have never experienced any trouble and this morning everything was just fine again.

Could be last weeks low temperatures. What stays - it always did this, and its the reason I always assumed a carb - there's a little hiccup at low revs when turning in sharp (in 3rd ffs!).

Thanx for all the feedback though!

Yes they did, but they sold kits from all the parts they had lying around.
