351w casting numbers
Discussion
Hi all,
Being new to all the V8 engines, i have an engine that i was told to be a ford 351 windsor.
Where abouts is the ENGINE NUMBER on these engines and how can you tell if it is a windsor and not a cleveland as i have searched for many hours on the internet only to be taken from one page to another and another etc with no real answer to my question!?
Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I don't know the engine but suspect that the number will be stamped into a machined face of the block. If this were the top of the cylinder face (as per Chevy) then it may have been machined away if the block has been decked.
Failing the engine number find the casting number as that can also be deciphered.
