I am trying to make changes to the injector scaling but I cannot get it to save to my ECU.
I input the new injector size and test pressure and have changed the fuel pressure , them I press calculate etc and it all gpes through. Then the book tells you to go to reprogramme the ecu by going to connection - programme ecu. that all works fine. but when I went back to the car an hour later open up the software and read the ecu and the new values havent stored.
what am I doing wrong ?

Using Emerald ? lol Ahh sorry...couldnt resist.I input the new injector size and test pressure and have changed the fuel pressure , them I press calculate etc and it all gpes through. Sorry, cant help..never used Emerald before.
Is there some sort of flash feature you need to flash to memory ? Does it save other changes ?
Are you able to change and store any other parameters in a similar way? I haven't used Emerald, but on some systems I've seen the running settings are loaded from flash into memory when the unit powers up. The running settings can be changed on the fly but are lost when the unit is switched off unless you also save them to the non-volatile flash memory.

When I started the remap this year I created a new file and I can update this map and save it ok. But Everytime I turn my ignition off and back on again the ecu seems to revert to the original map.
That suggests that the process you're using is only updating the volatile memory and not saving the settings to flash. After you have made the change, are you saving the configuration to file, and running the 'program ECU' command? Have you tried reading the configuration back from the ECU before you power cycle the ECU, and after you power cycle it?

When you press calculate it calculates the new microseconds/bit value at the bottom of the box. This is the updated figure used by the ecu to rescale the injector duration in time relative to the 8bit (0-255) map.
Each time you go back to the calculation screen all the numbers in the top box (fuel pressure and injector size ) will be the same as before because those are default values you have to change for recalculations, but it will be using the new updated msecs/bit value that it calculated last time.
The way to see if it's all working is to put in some silly high/low numbers, calculate a msecs/bit value and send it to the ecu, if the engine runs like a pig then you know it's worked. If you power down and restart the engine it should still run like a pig telling you that what you are doing has worked, so go back and do it with the proper numbers you want to use. It could be that the values you're changing are small enough that it makes little difference to the running of the engine, for instance a small change of fuel pressure and a small recalculate to the msecs/bit wouldnt have maybe any discernable impact on the running of the car.
I hope i got all that right, I'm working from memory and i cant remember the last time i used that feature

OK just read the emerald manual and it suggests that if you change it the running of the engine should be unaffected, so i can only assume it rescales the injection map numbers to correspond with the new ms/bit value calculated in the injector scaling page. So are you saying that your fuel map doesn't get updated with new numbers when you use the rescaling function then?
The story continues. Try phoning emerald today but no answer.
Now my car wont start since I fitted the new injectors. Tried my old set of injectors and still it wont start.
I know there is no fuel getting through as I have tested the injectors in situ. I am now wondering if it is my trying to change the injector values that have messed things up
