kia sportage not firing
Discussion
turn on ignition and push the immob to off on the fob engine turns but doesnt fire, no fuel at pump, and sprayed into inlet with easy start and nothing... not a hint of firing.. when ign is on very load buzzing from the fuse box its the two large relays one is pump and other is egi main both identcal have swapped etc now im stuck...AA couldnt fix thought immob prob or pump help !!!
Does the fuel pump prime when the ignition is turned on ? ( this will verify ecu is geting power )
Could the AA man communicate with the cars diagnostics ( if yes, at least the ecu is getting power )
Does the engine wind over ?
Are you getting no spark or fuel delivered ? ( check for signal at injectors )
If the ecu is getting power, but not delivering anything to coils or injectors...obvious one would be faulty crank trigger.
Again, if the AA man hooked up a scanner...that should be easy to spot ?

stevie thanks so far..turn on ign no prime but the relays go buzzing like crazy aa man didnt have a compatable lead so no testing done.. the relays seem a strange one, cant even get a decent answer from kia agent all they want to do is get it in there work shop have tested relays and they are ok ??
It was almost certainly the immobiliser- I've seen a few like this. Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset it, then remove the battery from the key fob, press the buttons a few times and refit the battery. Hold both buttons down on the fob until the light starts flashing and press the unlock button to re-synchronise the fob. The instructions should be in the owners handbook.
