Firsly, welcome to PH.

Secondly, if you've been around a while, you'll realise most people on here ignore poor spelling and grammar, so, to help you...

I've got a series 2 RS Turbo engine, it's being temperamental, some of the time it starts, then once turned off, it will not start again.

There's fuel and a spark, but it's lifeless, can anyone shed any light on what the problem might be please?
To try and help.

If there's occassional life, perhaps the HT leads are on their way out, or maybe you're getting some fuel in, but not enough to keep it going? Fuel pump?

If not those, then possibly compression or head gasket?

Possibly?

Thank you. Compression is spot to what it should be and the head gasket is brand new becuse it's just had a full rebuild(new pistons, rings etc). The fuel pump does prime when u turn the ignition on.There was one strange thing which happend the last time it was running.I had it running fine with the air filter removed but when i went to reinstall the filter to the top of the metreing unit it cut out and became lifeless. I have a feeling it could be a fault in the metreing unit itself but im unsure if this is a known fault in the RS Turbo's and how i would go about testing it.

Check the metering plate is not off center jammed or gummed up,this will certainly cause a non-run condition it as to move freely(well damped but free)in its bore wink
