Which Wide band controller?
Discussion
My Innovate LC1 has given up the ghost and given their reputation I'm not really inclined to buy another one. So I'm open to suggestions for a replacement. I need something that can drive a Bosch LSU4.2 sensor, provide a 0-5V analogue output and I also want to get a 52mm AFR gauge with it. Oh, and it has to be available right now in the UK.
The Dynojet Wide Band Commander 2 seems like pretty good value for money and is the current favorite. Any others I should be looking at?

If you change your mind dude let me know.
Im a disty for innovate and have a G2 kit ready and waiting. Most stuff goes out through my ebay store. efi solutions.
I think you will find some of the other brands have issues too. PLX for one http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=10949...
FWIW Ive shipped out perhaps 200 LC1's and only had 2 go back as faulty. 1% failure rate. Of course 0% is better, but there you go.

[quote=Pink_Floyd]What about the Techedge 2J1, that is the one I was goint to use. £140 approx. Don't know what others think of it.
How much is the Dynojet Wide Band Commander 2 ?

I've seen it listed at about £200 for the controller and £50 for the gauge, but I think if you go for the bundle including a new sensor and mounting bugs etc plus the LCD screen it comes in at over £400. Dynojet UK don't seem to have a shop on their website so not sure where to buy from yet, perhaps they'll sell it by phone.
I did wonder about the 2J1 but wasn't sure it was suitable. I seem to remember that one used a different sensor, and also didn't have an analogue gauge available. (Most likely any other brand of gauge could be made to work too, but that is a risk I'd prefer not to take if I can avoid it.)

It seems Dynojet only sell via agents, they do however offer fairly good technical support by email. If you call them they will give you contact details of a few suppliers. I bought from a bike shop which was keener on price than Tweeks. Done what it says on the cardboard box (so far) Not seen the Inovate stuff to compare but inpressed with Dynojet build quality, cables in particular are superb.
The list of widebands really is endless, and it all depends on your budget.
The Innovate are without doubt the most troublesome, but for a long time they were the best marketed, and the cheapest.
I know Haltech have a new range ( they no longer re-sell Innovate ).
Do a search, I compiled a list here ages ago.

I've run an Innovate LC-1 for a couple of years before it gave up the ghost last week, but from the number of problems I've read about with them I've considered myself a bit lucky. The digital output never has worked on mine, and this plus the current failure plus concerns about how much of a gamble a new replacement might be have put me off that option. I'm looking for a good safe reliable budget wide band controller. I don't want to spend more than necessary, but one that fails or gives an inaccurate reading could potentially put the engine at risk and I want to avoid that. I'm willing to spend a couple of hundred quid if necessary to get something reliable.
The newer LC-1's have 5 wires instead of the older 6 and some internal electronic changes to add a diode etc.
They arnt the most expensive for sure. However Im still on my first 6 wire unit, reading from the digital serial output these days. Had it about 3-4 years. I think the Analog outputs have died though
Ive seen good things spoken about the AEM & NTK sensor unit. But they are pretty pricey and the controller is a lot larger. It depends what your requirements are.
