.... To make more power?

Car in question is 77 modified Triumph TR7 V8, running at present a circa 220bhp 3.5 RV8.

Would like to see 300-400hp if pos. Not got a huge budget to play with but want some ideas on how to achieve this.

Thanks.

Throw the Rover boat anchor away and fit one of the GM LSx series engines.

Supercharger, or ditch the engine and go with something a bit more modern.

What engines would be on your hit list?

Cool your jets guys
300bhp is achievable from a rover for reasonable money,

port your heads and fit the biggest valves you can in there, perhaps entertain the use of the a modern 6mm stem item.

Bump the CR up to 10.5 or 11:1, fit a decent cam H404 or stealth grinds from v8 Dev are both good with the H404 more biased towards top -end

Capacity up to 4.6 ( best to use the short x-bolted block)

Open up the plenum throttle to 72mm and fit some 45mm trumpets and open up inlet to suit and port match to heads and use an aftermarket injection system to replace the dizzy and undersized MAF meter

typically with all brand new bits in parts cost this is going to be about 3.5 to 4K

LS conversions while very nice will cost more than this
