I'm going to run a remote oil filter on an LS3 engine. The filter mount adapter has AN10 threads(5/8" hose) and the remote filter mount has AN12 threads(3/4" hose), can anybody recommend the best hose size for feed and return?

Just fit whatever adaptors you want, to use whichever type of hose you want.

5/8 should be fine.

The block input to the filter adapter boss is 15/16" I've got AN12 3/4" fittings and hose but I'm not sure if the large diameter will affect i.e. reduce the oil pressure.

diameter tubing has no affect on pressure whatsoever, except it will be freer flowing and offer less restriction.

The sump will be tapped female M20x1.5 with a male-male adaptor, M20x1.5 and 13/16" on the other side. Although I guess it could be 15/16...Im sure mine used to be 13/16" filter fitting.

Any pics of your adaptor or what you intend doing ?

Thanks for your help, sorry can't get pics to upload? The block adapter and remote mount are both Moroso components. The adapter screws into the filter recess and has 2 AN10 holes for hose attachment, the remote filter mount is frame or body mounted and has 2 AN12 holes for hose attachment. I guess as I've got AN12 hose and all the fittings and that now I know the oil pressure will be unaffected I'll go with that. Anybpody know if there's a tutorial showing how to upload pics to the forums.

Just wondering why people do this?

Ease of access
Wishing to install an oil cooler
Wishing to install a larger oil filter.

There are a cariety of reasons.

And dont forget....you must get the flow direction correct for the filter housing, as most oil filters will only flow one way.

I'm having to do it because of the proximity of the the exhaust to the standard filter

So instead the exhaust will be near flammable hosing for the takeoff ??

By design...the exhaust tubes do tend to be close to the filter on these engines. Unless it was a turbocharger mounted right beside the filter...dont think I'd be that concerned ??

Its not just heat, I also need the space, I will though put a heat shield on the exhaust and run steel braided hoses
