I recently picked up my vx turbo and it appears to have a bit of a problem that i didnt really notice on the test drive. During a long 250mile drive home i started to notice almost a flat spot in acceleration between 3-4k revs and a smaller one about 4500. Car almost feels like it is dropping off boost or missing momentarily? I have booked the car in for a service but have a few days to wait and wanted to try to have a look and try to sort it asap. Any suggestions of things to try? Its the first turbo car i have owned and as a result am a bit naive to where to start. Cheers

Its a Vauxhall VX220 Turbo, it has a 2ltr Turbo Vauxhall engine as per the Astra as well as other models I think. It is totally standard and is currently running on regular 95ron fuel. Maybe I should give Vpower a go??

Check the state of the plugs, air filter and fuel filter (if it has one)

Steve i thought the 2.0 CLET engines were pretty strong. last i heard they could take about 300++bhp on stock internals......

Use the wrong fuel in any engine and it can blow.

It is totally standard and in the manual says 95ron or better is fine???? Anyway I have now filled with Vpower and while it is different, still doesnt feel right. Ive checked all of the hoses for leaks and nothing is obvious. Think will just leave it now until it gets serviced.

Well..maybe the VXR Astra is different. But Ive heard of a few blow ups ( warranty replaced ), and seen one myself which had meltdown due to its owner using 95RON

Famous last words . . . get it checked out now, could save a breakdown and serious damage. Do you really want a Vx dealer to start messing with the internals of your engine ? frown

Well when I mean I will leave it, Im just going to leave the car in the garage for now. Someone has suggested that it could be a faulty boost solenoid but could anyone tell me what symptoms I could experience?
