hi all, my 98/s clk 320 needs a new starter, but th job looks very tricky. Apparently its not a straightforward swap, and a 4 hr job according to my mechanic, as engine bits need to be moved out of the way. Can anyone shed some light on this job?
Did something similar on an S reg C280 (so similar at a guess). Fiddly little job, but took nothing off. Did "bend" the heatshield plate above it to jiggle the starter out as there's barely enough room.
Four hours sounds about right whichever way you do it..
