800cc Diesel engine from Smart For Two etc

Second attempt - This time in the right forum, hopefully

Does anyone know how/where I could try to buy the above engine? Not looking for a one-off, but trying to find an aftermarket supply route, such as has probably been used for this .... http://www.dieselmotorcycle.co.uk/

I'm pretty certain it's a Mercedes manufactured unit, but can't find out how to purchase Merc engines direct, or through an aftersales agent

I think its going to be a search through the breakers or ebay? what are you planning to do with it? I`d like one for my K100rs.

Yep, I've tried them, but unfortunately they weren't able to help.
I need to find a commercially viable route for volume supply of the units, which rules out most of the methods I would normally use to get my sticky mits on one.
Afraid I can't say exactly why I want to do this on here yet, but there are some similarities to the diesel bike link I posted in the OP
If you get hold of one let me know how the install goes - I may even be able to help!

There may be a company or two in Israel who can help. They use the Smart engines in a number of applications.
