Peugeot 1.9TD Starter Motor
Discussion
I have a 1998 306 1.9TD XUDT engine and the starter motor is slowly giving up the ghost. My local motor factor has quoted approx £140 for a new one depending upon which one of four it might potentially be. Obviously, this represents approx a quarter of the cars' value, and I'd rather get a secondhand one.
The existing starter motor looks to have a mitsubishi diamond logo on the side of it - Can anyone shed any light how I might match a used starter motor to my present one? It doesnt appear to show a part number.

Ebay any XUD starter should fit the bill,Citroen BX,ZX,Zantia,Berlingo,Pug 205/306 405 Partner Rover 418d etc etc,but 1st check the main cable/strap that goes from the starter solenoid to the motor itself is clean and tight on its post,a commom problem that one
