Polo Tickover Problem.

V.W Polo...1995.....1.6...AEE engine.....multipoint injection.
I have an erratic problem where when I dip the clutch, occasionally the tickover will drop very low, and now and then cut out. I have put new plugs in, but wondered if dizzy cap/rotor arm would be the next logical step?
Any thoughts oh learned crowd?

Why not check and clean the idle speed control valve ?

Why not check and clean the idle speed control valve ?
