I have an odd issue with the clutch on my much abused daily hack - a 2002 Astra 1.7DTI.

I drive it 500 miles a week without a problem. However, when my OH jumps into it, she occasionally finds it impossible to disengage the clutch.

She can physically push the pedal all the way to the floor, but it's not possible to change gears and it will stall if braked to a standstill.

I've been sitting next to her when it happens, and confirmed that she's got the pedal fully depressed. If we swap straight away, it behaves normally for me. The biting point is quite high - even if I depress the pedal half way, it's possible to change gears normally.

I'm tempted to say that she must be doing something unusual, but can't for the life of me see what.

Any wise ideas?
