how easy is it to put a 2.0 red in a nova?
my brother has a nova sat down the side of the house, only needs a brake master for the mot and it would be good to go.. but, its 5 door and a nasty brown colour with gray interior..
as its in such good condition ( even if it looks nasty) i would love to make it a sleeper by fitting a 2.0 lump.
is a redtop conversion just a simple bolt in job that ususes the origional shafs ect or is there alot of custome work that comes with it?

cheers

My mate did one a few years ago, also put astra gte digital dash in it as well and got it to work properly. He is now putting a red top in another at the moment but the engines going in the back this time. I remember going in the first one he did and I don't recall it being all that fast, and as far as I know you can buy a kit for doing the conversion but I couldn't tell you where from though.

All very clever I'm sure....

But maybe the OP would like to have a had a little discussion with a few people, some of whom may have even done a conversion themselves....

Funny enough that's what an internet forum is about......
But surely you would want to have at least an idea of what is involved before posting so that you manage to come across as slightly knowledgeable and informed, rather than a dreamer?

Two minutes of reading could have led to a more informed first post, thus leading to more of a response. It is not exactly the least common conversion going is it - two guys did it in 12 hrs in one link!

If this were the only (or even one of the few) places to get such information ,then I could understand it, but such lack of effort hardly bodes well for the future conversion does it?

Step by step guides to exactly this conversion are ten a penny and only a couple of clicks away!

ETA

Thread would possibly be better served in the VX part of PH - more chance of a helpful response wink
