TV interference...
Discussion
Anyone had any experience of tracing and rectifying causes of TV interference? My Chimaera is on MSD (Ford style) coilpacks, with resistive leads but seems to be causing neighbours' TVs to freeze/lock up (Sky and Freeview etc)... no obvious wiring/earthing issues and everything new/in sound condition.
Car uses plug shrouds, which are not presently resitive but could be so will try that next...
I'm assuming it's ignition related and probably not helped by lack of screening from the GRP body of the car

Don’t immediately assume the problem is your car however it may be a useful indication that you have a fault with the plug leads or something else in the HT circuit as that is what will cause problems. Run the engine in the dark and see if you can spot any sparks, if so that is probably radiating the noise and also not helping performance. Does the radio in the car work OK ? Ideally check on AM as FM is less prone to pulse type interference.
Your car should not radiate excessive amounts of RF noise but it will radiate some, the TV system should be reasonably immune to interference and the symptom may well be due to a badly installed tv system, very weak signal or both rather than anything wrong with the car.
