renualt clio mkll 1.2 engine help

can any one help my wife has a 1.2 8v clio and i am chageing the engine i have found a good engine at a local yard but on my engine there is a code on the block that is (FFP} and the one i have found has (FDP) on it anyone know what these mean and will it fit in my car

I think you may have misread the FFP I think it should be FEP - this is 1171 & 1390cc(1.2 ltr phase 1& 2 up to April 1996) FDP is 1149 (1.2 phase 3 models from may 1996) Just some improvements on later model. I'd have to read up on the differences - it's a while since I worked on them.
