Hi
I'm putting together an old(ish) TVR S2 for motorsport and have 2 diffs - one is the 3.64 LSD unit from a Granada Cosworth and the other is a 4.2 drom a 2ltr Granada
I need to marry them to produce an LSD with the 4.2 ratio - I'm looking for a decent place/person to carry out the swap (I would prefer to be shown/have someone to mentor me while I do it - but I think this may be difficult to organise)
I live in Teesside but willing to travel up to 100miles

I thought all the Ford LSDs of that era were absolute poop? I've been looking at replacement diffs for my cosworth and it would be either a Quaife or Gripper.

One is a 7.5", and the other a 7.0"

What you are trying to do, may be impossible. If you want an LSD in the smaller size, you'll need a 7.0" type from any 4x4 Sierra or Granada

sorry about the delay
now have both diffs - they seem to measure up the same - casing and flanges - apart from the ratio
the black diff is the 3.64 with the lsd and the grey diff is the 4.2 open one
if there is a difference (7" to 7.5")where would I find it

The measurement you have taken will indicate size. 7.0" is 7" there and has a bolt through its entire length, as opposed to two short bolts and tapped holes.

Leave the pinion intact in the housing. This way all you need to do is swap the diff unit to the crownwheel and set the lash between CWP.

If you remove the pinion, pinion depth may need set, which is a right PITA. Removal requires special socket anyway.
