I will be needing a clutch soon! so can any give me a pointer as to one that will cope with 650lbs of torque and 600+ bhp to fit a T5 box and a rover v8 engine,
Also interested in customer service of any companies suggested!

Realistically you are looking at a twin or triple plate organically lined 9.5 inch clutch.

You might want to look at whether the transmission is up to the task - and even then you might require lower gear torque limiting software.

Richard,

Not sure 600+bhp is really road car territory.

More like race track car on the road.

Not heard much about a monster build but as the RV8 cannot realistically make those numbers normally aspirated - I'm guessing it's twin turbo'd.

The twin turbo Griff made 543 bhp ..

Re: the clutch - I think only a paddle would handle that power and torque and you would be best talking direct to someone like Helix who really know what they are talking about.

You will not find an organic clutch for that level of torque! Not even a multi plate race clutch! You are looking at a triple plate sintered (paddle) race clutch which will require flywheel modifications to fit. If you like I can quote you an a ZF Sachs SRE clutch? PM me...

An organic street twin, twin plate Mc Leod would certainly be up to the job and be road friendly that's if you can still get them.

Yes, those are them. I had one on my rv8 TT and it was a very good clutch. Felt like an ordinary road clutch and had a light pedal.

I'd be more interested in how you intend getting that from a Rover V8 lol

Mcleod street twin will likely work fine. I never had any real problems with it on my RV8 TT.

I cant see the T5 lasting more than a few minutes with that sort of power either.

By coincidence - I have a McLeod in my car but it's a single. Had to shorten my release bearing by 10mm.

I'm quite pleased to have got 520 hp and appx 540 lbs ft from a 2.9 12v pushrod ford smile let alone a large low comp rover.
