Improve Standard Exhaust?

Hi guys,
I've got an Audi V6 cab and although I love the car I do think the engine note/exhaust it too muffled. I don't want to go down the line of changing the whole set up but was wondering what can be down to the standard exhaust the free things up a bit? I'd like to keep the rear backbox but can the internal baffles be removed?

Milltek could do a full stainless steel catback system for less than £1,000. Would sound v. nice without being too loud. Alternatively they'll probably be able to sell you one or more of the contituent parts if you wanted to keep the original backbox?
