ROVER 214 PROBLEM

me and my mate have for some reson (bordom)have got a rover 214 mk2 i think not bubble shape and we are putting a 220 turbo (t16) engine in we have the engine in but we have 220 turbo gearlinkage it fits gear box end but not under car any one who can help info on what to do cheers

The T series engine was fitted to the 200 from about '92 on, why not get a gear linkage from one of them?
