Hi folks, looking for someone experienced in Mercedes here.

Have the above car in for basic service, changed glow plugs, oil and air filters, tried to start the car and it's cranking but will not fire.

Managed to get the codes read today with some kind help from a local PH'er as my own reader couldn't pinpoint the code, only tell me there is one there.

It's giving us a P0800 code. From what i can see that's transmission related. Is that just a generic transmission code?

Will it have to go to someone with a Star reader to get the exact code? Any ideas on what to try before i have to tow it to Mercedes?

Cheers,
Olie

This may be totally un-related but a friend had a C270 CDI and had some real issues starting his.

Turned out the fuel lines break down with age, start to suck in air and therefore the car won't start.

Apparently very common on the C270 CDI

Cheers for that, i'll have a very good look at the fuel lines in the morning.

If i cannot see anything, it's going to the local Merc specialists.
